September Sentiments

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. -1 Peter 4:8-9

Exciting news: I am writing this blog post from Winchester, England! I’ve been here almost two weeks, and it still doesn’t seem real that this is my home. That being said, I am truly having the best time, and I can already tell that my heart for ministry and pastoral care has grown.

I chose the verse above as the theme of this post because the two points it makes really hit home with the experience I’ve had since moving here.

  1. “Love each other deeply.” The love that I have been shown here has been nothing short of amazing. There has been a lot of cultural differences- more than I imagined initially- but I have been met with so much grace and patience here from the school staff. People that I have only just met have greeted me with such kindness, and I am so grateful for that!
  2. “Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.” Now this one really hits home for me. I have always seen this verse and wondered what I could do to be more hospitable to others, but have never thought about what it would be like to receive godly hospitality. Not only has my placement given me a place of my own to stay, but they’ve also gone above and beyond to make sure that I am adjusting well. SO MANY cups of tea, coffee, and friendship have been offered to me, and I am so thankful for every single one.

I’ve only been here for less than a month, but I have already learned so much about myself and how to care for others. That being said, I still appreciate every prayer, letter, and word of encouragement sent my way during this journey! If you would like to celebrate my arrival with a monetary gift, you can find the link to donate to my mission on the blog post titled, “The Journey Begins.”

I love you all,

Cait
